Was Eberhard Weber playing along with Gary Burton? That would have been a treat - altered or otherwise.

But what I would have done to have been in Oslo for his work in 1980 - I can only imagine what they tried out in clubs as they were putting together 80/81 and As Falls......

Any Metheny lineup with Michael Brecker, Jack DeJohnette and Charlie Haden pitching in had to magical live. I think Dewey Redman threw in with that bunch but I'll have to check my liner notes when I get home.

And at the rate this conversation is unwnding that might be sooner rather than later.

So many Right Click/Save As treasures from multiple artists. Great start is the two Pat Metheny Trio shows in Boston from 1974 with Bob Moses and Jaco. Doesn't get much better.
